Under the Iconic Concrete Domes of Deitingen

Architectural interior design showcasing organic forms and natural light

Beneath the legendary shells designed by Heinz Isler, Marché Deitingen is an architectural monument. Our mission was the sensitive revitalization of an icon. GALA curated an interior concept that respects the listed heritage while enabling modern Free-Flow gastronomy, a dialogue between 1960s Brutalism and fresh culinary standards.

A Homage to Heinz Isler

Our design is a tribute to the architecture. We translated the organic silhouettes of the Isler domes into bespoke furniture. Curved counters and fluid lines harmonize with the historic structure rather than dominating it.

Experience Quality & Acoustic Comfort

Concrete halls often feel cold. Through targeted textile elements, premium upholstery, and warm oak, we optimized the acoustics. What was once a transit station is now an oasis of calm for travelers on the A1.

Project Insights: Gastronomy in a Heritage Monument

The revitalization of Marché Deitingen Süd balanced heritage conservation with operational efficiency. In close collaboration with Marché, particularly Roman Baumann, we developed an interior design concept that makes the historic concrete shells spatially legible for the modern era.

The Design Concept: Concrete, Commerce, and Atmosphere

To balance the heavy presence of exposed concrete, we integrated lush green zones and natural materials. Oak surfaces and leather accents complement the existing structure. The open-kitchen (Front Cooking) concept increases transparency, guiding the guest intuitively through the space.

GALA Services List:

  • Bespoke Furniture Design: Custom artisanal pieces reflecting the building's organic geometry.

The Added Value

Revitalizing an Icon: A design that boosts revenue through atmosphere while preserving Swiss architectural history.

Frequently Asked Questions: Heritage Projects

Through restraint. We designed "furniture within a room," ensuring the historic fabric remained untouched. Every intervention is reversible and respects the original 1960s geometry.

Through "soft islands." High-back upholstered seating and acoustically active timber elements break sound waves without sacrificing the signature open-plan aesthetic.
